Our Roots Run Deep
Easy Street® was founded in 1989 by the husband and wife team of Michael and Diane Rae Witbrod. As life-long entrepreneurs with a passion for fashion and footwear, the Witbrods saw an opportunity to make comfort shoes chic and contemporary.
At a time when most comfort brands focused solely on orthopedic qualities, Easy Street broke new ground by fusing reliable comfort features into on-trend designs suited for the fashionable woman’s lifestyle.
This innovative approach struck a chord in the market, and Easy Street quickly earned acclaim for its noteworthy combination of style and comfort. Within its first 18 months, Easy Street reached nearly $1 million in sales – a remarkable achievement for a startup comfort brand.
Three decades later, Easy Street remains family owned and operated, now led by second generation leader Mark Witbrod. While Mark has ushered the brand into the modern era, Easy Street still honors its heritage through quality craftsmanship and enduring comfort technologies.
